Dr. Sourav Roy belongs to the latter category. Based in Bangalore, Karnataka, he is an academician, researcher, and Assistant Professor in the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering at Christ University, Kengeri Campus.
Born on 20 September 1983 in Kolkata, West Bengal, Dr. Roy has established himself as a respected name in the fields of Semiconductor-VLSI Design, Printable Electronics, Nanotechnology, Biosensors, and Resistive Random-Access Memory (RRAM).
A Journey Built on Academic Excellence
Dr. Sourav Roy completed his B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering from St. Thomas’ College of Engineering and Technology, Kolkata, followed by an M.Tech in Microelectronics and VLSI Design, where he graduated with exceptional academic distinction.
His passion for semiconductor research later earned him a full scholarship for Ph.D. studies at Chang Gung University, Taiwan, where he specialised in metal oxide-based resistive switching memory for biosensor applications.
He further strengthened his international research profile through postdoctoral work at Xi’an Jiaotong University, China and research collaborations with SUNY Binghamton, USA.

Currently serving at Christ University, Dr. Roy has played an important role in establishing advanced research initiatives including the C.H.R.I.S.T Lab, focused on nanoparticle ink synthesis and innovative sensor technologies.
